Michael Patterson
Tax Manager, Enrolled Agent
Before embarking in the exciting career in tax accounting, Michael worked in operations for the grocery and coffee industries – both in the field and corporate office. His prior work experience affords a special understanding of the balance between daily operations and company compliance. This allows for a unique bond with small business owners. Prior to joining our firm, he ran a tax practice here in the desert, with clients both locally and all over the country.
Michael is an Enrolled Agent, the highest credential awarded by the Internal Revenue Service. He holds a Master of Science in Accountancy, as well as degrees in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems. He is adjunct faculty at both College of the Desert & California State University San Bernardino – Palm Desert Campus. He has taught a variety of accounting courses, including Taxation for Individuals & Corporations and Accounting for Governments & Nonprofits.
Michael has called the desert his home since 2008. He has donated time and resources working with and serving on the board of multiple nonprofits. He spends free time with his two rescue terrier dogs and working on his house. He is a budding cyclist and enjoys travel, especially road trips. His favorite week of the year is an annual 7-day 545-mile fundraiser, pedaling from San Francisco to Los Angeles on his bicycle!
